Euromed 2020: Theme: Gastronomy

France has issued stamp on Bouillabaisse recipe to illustrate the common theme of 2020 “traditional Mediterranean gastronomy”.

The subject is considered in its broad definition of gastronomy, as the knowledge of everything related to cooking, the scheduling of meals, the art of tasting and appreciating dishes.

St Vaast La Hougue Manche Town

Coastal town located on the east coast of north-Cotentin in the department of La Manche, Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Its heritage consists mainly of the fort de la hougue, the port, the chapel of the sailors, the island of tatihou accessible on foot at low tide and also equipped with a vauban tower.

Its population is around 2,000, making it the most populous municipality in the canton of Val de Saire. Since January 1, 2017, it has been part of the Cotentin agglomeration community.

The activity in saint-vaast-la-hougue is mainly port (fishing and boating), oyster farming and tourism. ”

Luis Mariano

Luis Mariano was born in Irun on August 13, 1914 after his family name Luis-Mariano Eusebio Gonzalez. His family took refuge in France during the Spanish Civil War. Young Luis, attracted by the drawing, entered the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts, where he was noticed by Jeannine Micheau, who took on the stage at the Palais de Chaillot in December 1943.

He meets Francis Lopez and Raymond Vinci. He created their first operetta “La belle de Cadiz” which was to decide his career. The show will run for two years.The popularity of Luis Mariano continues to grow. For ten years he dominated the world of song and operetta. The bright point can be in 1951-1952, the time of the “Singer of Mexico” and of the film “Imperial Violets”.

For cinema, he shot around twenty films from 1945 to 1958. In December 1969, he ensured the creation of the “Caravelle d’Or” at Châtelet, but struck down by illness he had to give up his role after a few months. He rests since 1970, in Arcangues, a small village in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques ”
